Yesterday we got little girls out of bed at 4:30 a.m., took a taxi to an airport with the longest security line I've ever seen, sprinted to board the plane, took that plane to another airport where Jemma threw a banana at me in a rage of fury about something I can't remember, sat on the runway on another airplane for TWO HOURS while one lone AirTran employee scanned in hundreds of passport numbers by hand because the computer system was down, flew south for three hours and nineteen minutes, waited in the customs line for an hour and a half, and drank a Red Stripe on the one-hour drive to here
where we arrived just in time for a quick dip in the pool and dinner at sunset. Today was little girls waking us up at 6:00 a.m., sandcastles at the beach, sea kayaking, rum punch and little-girl slushies, tennis, swimming pool, puzzles, and about as much reggae music as you'd expect, it being Jamaica and Bob Marley's birthday.
